How do I prepare sound, camera and microphone on remote desktop?


Are your PC compatible?

Camera only works with Teams, if your local computer is running Windows 10 ver. 1809 or higher. You can check your Windows version by pressing Start , type Winver and hit the Enter key

Before you log on to the remote desktop, you have to do the following on your own local PC.

Press Start (1) and choose Settings (2)

In Settings, select Privacy (3)

Select Camera (4)

Allow access to camera on this device must be activated. (5)

Allow apps to access your camera must be On (6)

Allow desktop apps to have access to your camera, must be On (7) Go back to Settings (8)

Select microphone (9)

Allow access to the microphone on this device must be activated. (10)

Allow apps to access your microphone must be On (11)

Allow desktop apps to have access to your microphone, must be On (12)

Go back to Settings (13)

Under Settings Select System (14)

Select Sound (15)

Under Output select your output device. (16) (eg. PC speaker or headset)

Under Input select your input device. (17) (eg. microphone or headset)

Close Settings (18)

Now, edit the remote desktop shortcut.

Rightclick the remote desktop shortcut (19) and select Edit (20)

Select the tab Local resources (21) In Remote Audio select Settings (22)

Check Play on this computer (23)

Check Record from this computer (24) Press OK

Under Local devices and resources select More (25)

Check Videocapture devices (26) if present.

Check Other supported PnP devices (27) Press OK

Select the tab General (28) and press Save (29)

Close Remote Desktop Connection (30)

Now log on to remote desktop as usual. Teams now have access to camera, speakers and microphone.
