How do I add a default search engine in Internet Explorer?
Open Internet Explorer (1)
Click the small arrow at the address bar (2) and choose Add (3).

A new tab will automatically open at Microsoft's Internet Explorer Gallery.
Scroll down the list of Add-ons and find your preferred search provider, eg. Google. Click Add (4).
In the Add search provider box check the Use search suggestions from this provider checkbox (5). Click Add (6).
Your preferred search provider is now selected as default search engine.
